May Design Team Projects ~ Scrap Attack Scrapbooking

Frugal Scrapping Anyone??

I just LOVE Dollar Stores, I mean, who DOESN'T love a good bargain... so much fun stuff to be found!! Not only can I find cool items for my home, but also lots of stuff that can be incorporated into my scrapbook layouts using a little creativity.

I posted this as a challenge over this past NSD weekend at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking, and the pages made from it were SO FUN... I just HAD to share this technique!!!

For my non-scrappy item, I purchased a funky-looking pillow cover (from the home section) and a small amount of drywall tape (from the hardware section). Here is a picture of the pillow cover.

And here is my layout made using a flower and some trim that I cut from the pillow cover, and the drywall tape that I painted gold.

How fun is that??? Bet you look at things differently the next time you are in your local Dollar Store!!!

Smile for the Day :o)

Just wanted to spread some cheer today... these mugs made me happy this morning.

How CUTE are these??? I think I need all four of them!!

You can find them at
LTD Commodities, or just click on the picture. Have a GREAT day!!!!

Altered Rolodex Cards ~ SO FUN!!

So I participate in a monthly Altered Rolodex Card Swap over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking and am REALLY enjoying these little cards!!

Such fun, quick little projects. And my FAVE part... is getting the other participants cards and seeing their work in person. Such inspiration these little cards are...

Here are my April cards, the theme was "Girlie"... I personalized each one with the first initial of the participants.

... and here are my March cards, the theme was "Love"...

Here are a few other Rolodex Cards I've altered recently...

Arte y Pico Blogger Award

I am so excited to have received my first official blogger award!!

My scrappy friend Chris from over at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking has awarded me the Arte y Pico award, which is given to people who share their art and creativity through contributions to the blogging world.

Here are the rules for the award:

1. You pick five blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2. List the names of the people you chose to receive the award on your blog and link to their blogs. Then go comment on one of their posts to notify them that you have given them this award and link to the post on your blog.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name of the person who gave them the award and link to their blog.

4. The Award-winner and the one who has given the award have to show the link to the Arte y Pico blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award (it's in Spanish, but you can translate it).

Following are the five blogs I'm passing this award along:

1. Wendi

2. Leah

3. Nathalia

4. Kelly

5. Wendy

Fun & Easy Home Decor from Scraps

I made some curtains for my entryway windows last week and had scraps of the fabric left over. I decided to use the scraps and make a fun heart wall hanging to match for the living room.

I cut 4 individual hearts out, 2 for each heart. Hand sewed the edges, inserted stuffing, sewed on some jute ribbon for the hangers, added a couple scrap flowers, ribbon bows and a couple of buttons from my scrap stash... instant wall decor!!!

Just wanted to share... thanks for looking!!
